The 63rd Annual Institute of the Classical Association of the Empire State will be hosted at Siena University. This year’s theme is “Lingua Latina Vivit: Teaching Latin at All Levels.” Many NYS teachers received their Classics degrees from Siena University, in Loudenville, NY. Now, since June of 2024, Siena has adopted the MAT program for teacher preparation.
The CAES institute will also feature author and professor James Romm as our evening keynote speaker. Dr. Romm, a NYS educator at Bard College, released his most recent book, Since You’re Mortal, in May.
Our daytime schedule will run from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. This year’s conference program offers a diverse range of workshops, designed to support both scholarly inquiry and practical pedagogy. We extend our sincere thanks to all educators who submitted proposals, helping us create a rich and engaging experience for the Classics community. Look for updates and registration soon.
