The 51st Annual Institute was a resounding success! In celebration of 50 years of CAES, over 50 CAES members attended this year’s conference.
At the banquet Professor Emeritus Donald Mills gave a wonderful address outlining the history of CAES and many of the regional affiliates across the state. After, CAES Vice President Ellyn Bibik asked our members to share with the group what inspired us to become Latin teachers. Many attendees stepped up to the podium and shared the story of their journey to this rich and rewarding vocation.
The workshops were well attended, and many presenters have made their materials available on our website. Click this link to browse the workshop files: http://goo.gl/Il5HO3
If you were unable to attend, please know that you were missed. We hope that you will take this moment to mark your calendar with the dates of the 52nd Annual Institute: October 23-25, 2015. We will be meeting at the Crowne Plaza in Syracuse, and our board and Institute committee are all ready preparing things.
In the meantime, if you are looking for ways to contribute to, and support CAES, please consider:
- presenting a workshop at next year’s Institute
- renewing your membership for 2015 and beyond
- making a donation to the CAES scholarship fund
- subscribing to updates from the CAES website
- liking the CAES Facebook page
Thank you for your continued interest in and support of the only professional organization dedicated to the teaching and sharing of Latin and the Classics in New York State!
