On Saturday, March 14, 2026 CAES will host the Latin Checkpoint A and B Item Writing Workshop from 9am to Noon. For those who wish to join us in person, we will meet at Shenendehowa CSD’s Center for Innovative Learning at High School West in Clifton Park. We will also run it as a Zoom webinar. David Pellegrino has agreed to help us. Our final products will be available on the caesny.org website and shared with participants. This means we will need you to become a member in good standing of CAES.
At the February 10th NYSED webinar, David Pellegrino led a workshop about creating a Checkpoint B exam. The Classical Association of the Empire State plans to create a repository of interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational questions, but we need your help. This will be similar to the workshops we held in 2025.
If you are unable to attend this first workshop on March 14th, CAES is planning three additional one hour online workshops for teachers to collaborate on more questions for Checkpoint A and B exams. The dates and times will be:
Thursday, March 19th, 4-5pm: CAES PLC on writing interpersonal tasks
Thursday, March 26th, 4-5pm: CAES PLC on writing presentational speaking and writing tasks/questions
Wednesday, April 1st, 4-5pm: CAES PLC on writing interpretive reading and listening questions
